End-to-End Process

Six phases. Fully closed loop.

From the moment a patient books an allergist to the moment their home is safe — every step stays on the platform.

Phase 1 — Clinical Trigger

Patient visits allergist, pulmonologist, or pediatrician via the platform.

Standard booking flow. Nothing changes for the existing product. After the visit, Canary sends a contextual nudge based on specialty:

Allergist nudge

“Your allergy test showed mold sensitivity. Want to find out if your home is the source? Book a Canary scan.”

Pediatrician nudge

“Your child’s symptoms may have a home trigger. Test for mold, lead, and air quality — HSA eligible.”

Phase 2 — HSA Unlock

Patient pays with pre-tax dollars. ~30% savings.

A

Patient opts in to HSA/FSA payment at checkout

Triggers automated LMN workflow.

B

5-minute health questionnaire

Diagnosis, symptoms, medications, home characteristics.

C

Async physician review + LMN signature

Licensed provider reviews, signs Letter of Medical Necessity with ICD-10 code. Same business day. Truemed-compatible workflow.

D

HSA/FSA card charged at checkout

LMN stored in the patient’s profile for reimbursement records.

Phase 3 — Inspection

Canary-verified inspector tests the home.

Inspector receives clinical context (diagnosis, what to focus on). Follows Canary documentation standards: clinical correlation section, standardized sampling, 20+ photos, environmental conditions log. Samples to AIHA-accredited lab.

Phase 4 — Results & Clinical Loop

Report goes to patient AND referring physician.

This is the moat. The doctor prescribed the test. Now they see the results. They can adjust treatment based on actual environmental data. The patient books a follow-up to discuss findings.

No competitor closes this loop. Angi sends a report to the patient. Period. Canary sends it to the patient, the doctor, and generates a follow-up booking.

Phase 5 — Remediation

If needed: independent remediation + clearance testing.

Canary refers to vetted remediation partners who are independent from the inspector. After remediation, a different Canary inspector conducts clearance testing. Two separate bookings. Zero conflict of interest.

Phase 6 — Data Layer (Year 2+)

The dataset nobody else has.

Canary accumulates anonymized, zip-code-level environmental health data. “73% of asthma patients in [zip code] had elevated mold.” Enables predictive nudges, public health reporting, and the basis for insurance partnerships — where the real scale revenue lives.

Quality Controls

Built to be auditable.

Inspector Standards

CIH/ACAC/state-licensed. Monthly report audits. Clinical correlation required. Underperformers removed.

Lab Standards

AIHA-accredited only. Chain of custody on every sample. EMSL and Eurofins as primary national partners (89 locations).

Conflict Separation

Testing ≠ remediation. Clearance by independent inspector. Four separate parties in every engagement.
