It was characterized by Dr. Ritchie Shoemaker and affects approximately 25% of the population who lack the genetic ability to clear biotoxins efficiently.
Symptoms can include fatigue, cognitive impairment, joint pain, shortness of breath, and sensitivity to light. Diagnosis typically involves a clinical evaluation, specific lab panels (TGF-beta1, MMP-9, VIP, MSH, C4a), and visual contrast sensitivity testing. Environmental remediation of the source is a required component of treatment.
